Course Overview

The IFRS Foundation was recently restructured into two pillars, namely the existing International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the newly formed International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). The ISSB will focus on sustainability and climate change and issued two new Standards—IFRS S1 and IFRS S2—that will change the face of financial reporting forever.

This 2-day seminar is wrapped around real-life scenarios, practical examples, and illustrations of sustainability issues. It highlights the link between Sustainability and ESG.

Crucially, the seminar focuses on quantitative carbon accounting, assisting delegates in calculating and measuring Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions to disclose carbon footprints across three scopes in their annual reports.

Key Learning Outcomes

Gain knowledge on the new developments of the ISSB and understand IFRS S1 and S2 standards.

Report and disclose sustainability and climate change-related information accurately.

Understand physical and financial carbon accounting concepts and the carbon cycle.

Calculate GHG emissions across direct, indirect, upstream, and downstream scopes.

Apply emission factors (EFs) and Global Warming Potential (GWP) through real-life scenarios.

Why You Should Attend

The seminar will enable attendees to master the shifting landscape of corporate sustainability disclosures.
